GW Office of Military and Veteran Student Services
Drag to set position!
Welcome to the Office of Veteran Services! GW salutes your service to our country and values your contributions to the campus community. We are committed to providing you with the highest level of student and financial services, and are here to assist with any issue that may arise.
GW was named a "military friendly" institution for the 2009-10, 2010-11, and 2011-12 school years by G.I. Jobs magazine. GW is also a proud participant in the Yellow Ribbon Program. In 2010, 2011, and 2012, GW was named a "best for vets" university by Military Times' Edge magazine.
GW is committed to support individuals with military experience through access and achievement in higher education. Under Dr. Knapp's leadership, George Washington now has a Veteran Services office and a full-time coordinator position for veteran services and benefits. Among the many student-veterans, active duty service members, and dependents at George Washington, more than 700 are assisted by
that office in their use of military benefits.
In partnership with the Yellow Ribbon Program, GW tuition also has been covered fully for undergraduate student-veterans since 2009. And thanks to increases in government assistance, almost all graduate student-veterans now will be able to earn a degree that is tuition-free.
