"It is not where you look, it is what you see” - Gerry Walden
Gerry Walden is a freelance editorial, documentary, and stock photographer based in Southampton, on the south coast of England. With over 60 years of experience, he has built a reputation for his work in street photography, music photography, and commercial projects. His career includes a diverse client list, such as Tesco Supermarkets (via Freedman Brown), Lloyds Pharmacy, and National Geographic, where his images have been published. Walden’s work has been exhibited internationally, including a one-man show at the prestigious Royal Photographic Society gallery, and he has been recognized as a Fujifilm X-World photographer for his use of their X-Pro1 cameras and lenses. His specialties include black-and-white photography, reportage, jazz, travel, and marine themes. He maintains an extensive stock library available for purchase and is particularly noted for capturing “decisive moments” in street photography, a concept inspired by Henri Cartier-Bresson. Walden continues to share his work through platforms like Flickr, LensCulture, and his personal website (gwpics.com). N.B. Gerry's images are a great throwback to the quality of film with a photo-journalistic approach. I curse you and the Leica you road in on, now I have to get off of my @$$ and shoot more film again. God Bless from Spokane, Washington.
Wonderful Foto Serie - my Respect !!! Greetings from the former GDR ... Stop the War in Ukraine - Freedom - Peace !!!
I just wanted to say that you have a super portfolio with many great images, but to my eye, it is your shots of people that really stand out. You are able to capture so much emotion without seeming intrusive. Very natural. Also, I was born in Southampton, so that counts for you as well!
