I live in Belgium in the Walloon Brabant and I'm supposed to be a programmer.

Tired of digital technology, I once wanted to see what a rangefinder camera looked like, I bought a Kiev IIa.

Sure, it was crude and cumbersome, but I loved the dry sound of its metal-curtain shutter and its unrivalled smell of leather and soviet grease.

Since then, I became a film addict. I'm not an analogic puritan because I don't have the skill to print my pictures. Ok, I've done such things in a distant past, but if you aim at mastering contrasts, that's serious work. Scanning is easy.

I mainly use a Kiev 4a, a Zorki-1 and also some toys-cameras . All my negatives are scanned with an Epson Perfection V500 scanner at 2400 ppp. Images are processed with Gimp; in fact, I only do some contrast adjustement sometimes with local selection to highlight some details.
