I am currently the Associate Design Editor and Supervisor of the Information Graphics Department at El Nuevo Día Newspaper (GFR Media, Inc.) in Puerto Rico. I supervise the design, concepts, coordination and production of the daily newspaper and information graphics for its printed and online versions. For the past 21 years at El Nuevo Día, I have participated in and supervised several special projects which include the redesign of the newspaper, several products, and sections. As an editorial illustrator, I have a variety of bi-lined illustrated articles and cover pieces published by the newspaper and its magazines. I coordinate and service internal clients, such as marketing and sales departments for promotional materials, and several editors and directors of the newspaper.

Prior to joining El Nuevo Día, I was the Senior Designer and Studio Manager for Lester & Associates Communications, a design firm that specializes in commercial and residential real estate design and marketing. I specialized in communication design with a proven record of successful projects and a commitment to highly professional standards of quality.

As the Graphics Manager at Electronic Color Imaging, a “full-service” service bureau in New Jersey, I was “hands on” in the printing and pre-press operations. Along with trouble-shooting documents for final output, I handled the production and coordination of multiple projects. I was the client contact for several clients.

In addition to my creative and technical skills, my strengths include clear communications, keeping projects on-time and on-budget without losing track of the details and quality of work. I have been involved in ensuring that the organization’s strategic plan is supported and that organizational objectives and strategies are adhered to and communicated to my team. I coach and train my staff as needed to promote a steady increase in quality and productivity to exceed both the clients’ and company’s expectations and best meet their needs. My experience includes management, supervision, and hands on design. I have been servicing clients, internal and external, for more than 29 years as a designer or supervising design, production and pre-press. This has given me the opportunity to demonstrate positive working relationships with successful outcomes.
