I was going to comment on Gurbir's latest photo. But it left me speechless. In fact, all his photos recently have had that effect on me. Gurbir is not only an incredible photographer, but he is an incredible person with an intelligent, thoughtful and moving mind - you can tell all this just by looking at his photos. Look at them. The way the models in his photos aren't just models - they're characters, with a past, present and future. The carefully chosen beautiful backdrops. His exquisite use of colours and tones. But it's the stories - his concepts - that blow me away every time. He is able to take a concept and look at it in a different light to everybody else; he has the ability to tell a story from a new perspective, and make us appreciate his photography not just on a visual level, but on many more deeper, more meaningful levels. His photography can make us soar higher than we ever expected, and not many photographers can do that. Gurbir has been one of my longest Contacts on Flickr, and I'm glad for that. It's been a pleasure to watch him grow, and an even greater joy to know him as a person, the person behind the camera. Because that person behind the camera? He is pretty awesome.
