Gumberg Library supports the teaching, learning, and research of Duquesne's students, faculty, and staff in keeping with Duquesne University’s Spiritan identity and commitment to excellence in liberal and professional education.

Gumberg Library will be nationally recognized for student-centered services, collections of distinction, progressive applications of information technology, and its beautiful and functional building.

Gumberg Library will:

• Help all students be academically successful and information literate

• Partner with faculty in providing instruction and developing collections

• Achieve recognition in accreditation and program reviews as an institutional asset

• Lead as the campus provider of electronic content

• Improve as a functional and beautiful place for students and faculty

Library staff will:

• Assist students and faculty through direct contact in service areas

• Provide online and Web-based resources and services

• Provide access to on-site collections

• Develop resources relevant to the curriculum, research, and individual inquiry

• Preserve and share unique collections

• Use technology to integrate library and classroom resources
