I am a youth arts educator in Pittsburgh, PA. I teach digital arts and ceramics. I work in an awesome studio with amazing fellow artists and enthusiastic (yet patient) teachers.

I consider myself an "artist-potter" though to be certain, I don't mean to imply anything snobbish by that. I simply believe that by making functional, one of a kind pieces, the end user of the product is able to incorporate art into their daily life.

I also say that I'm an artist-potter in order to make the distinction between the work I do and the work of a production potter. Though I have a great deal of respect for production potters and the work they create, I am more interested in creating singularly unique pieces. And frankly, repetition feels like work, whereas my studio process feels like relaxation to me (most of the time, at least).
