After starting photography in my early teens using a Canon FTb borrowed from school, I then bought myself a Zenit-TTL with my first pay packet (or two) to play around with till my 20s, when life just got in the way. Over the subsequent 30 years, I’ve had a number of film and then digital point and shoot cameras, but didn’t really start again seriously till my 50s when I ‘looked after’ my daughters Nikon D40x for 6 months, then got my own D3000, which has now been replaced with a D7200 (with a sensor that just attracts dust like nobody’s business - ugh!)
I love long-exposures, vivid sunsets, animals, flowers and landscapes (the natural world), but want to learn more about portraiture, auto photography (i.e. cars, etc.), and effective lighting. I’ve lately started volunteering at a Steam Locomotive Depot museum, and you will most likely start to see pictures relating to this theme appearing in my work too.
