The University of Alberta's Sustainability Council is an academic leadership unit promoting and enabling sustainability scholarship. The council and its staff lead an inter-faculty initiative to integrate sustainability into academics by developing curriculum resources, experiential learning opportunities, research support and student leadership.

The Sustainability Council is the successor to the Office of Sustainability, which led a university-wide sustainability initiative from 2009–2018.
