Hello,

I have been a Flickr member since 03 September 2007. My other hobbies include amateur (ham) radio, drives along lesser used rural roadways, taking walks, hiking, camping and genealogy. In 2001 when I worked at Technicolor I was given a promo digital camera which slowly got me into photography. In March 2006 I bought a Canon PowerShot A410, a basic point-and-shoot digital camera, I began enjoying the hobby more so on 02/21/09 I purchased a Nikon D60, and later the AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED lens. On 07/18/12 I added a Nikon D3100 (red) to my collection. I have enjoyed watching trains since I was a preteen therefore most of my photos are railroad related. Many others are of emergency vehicles and other objects of interest.

Thanx to those who have taken the time to view my Flickr site, and a SPECIAL THANX to those who have commented, added one of my photos as a 'Fave', invited my photo(s) to a group or gallery, and/or added me as a contact or friend.

PS: My favourite sport is Football, and my favourite team is the Washington Commanders. Also, Val is not my true middle name as seen on my photos copyright/watermark, it is the suffix of my Amateur Radio callsign.
