I made a career change to floristry a few years ago, working for my local florist shop www.theflowerboxpt.com/. Lisa Smith, the proprietor, helped me out a lot while I studied part time by providing my course material and lots of encouragement.

After gaining my qualification, becoming Student of the Year in Floristry at Pencoed College, Bridgend, I turned my attention to competition work. Again with Lisa's support, I won several heats of Interflora's annual Florist of the Future competition.

In 2005, I moved to London and worked as a freelancer for various companies including Woodhams and Paula Pryke, before honing my floristry skills at McQueens Flowers.

In 2012 I left McQueens to set up Hermetica London, exploring my passion for plants through the use of terrariums.

For personal reasons I closed Hermetica London in March 2015.
