About Dennis Mertzanis

Unrelenting dedication and passion to the sport of drifting has been Dennis Mertzanis’ driving force since 2004 with the goal of being one of the best drifters in the nation pushing him full throttle forward. Dennis’ love for cars and the engineering behind them has been the underlining theme throughout his journey, with many years of experience ranging from auto mechanics to mechanical engineering as well as fabricating and racing. He currently works as an Engine Development Engineer at Honda R&D in Raymond, Ohio, where his responsibilities include testing new engine design parameters for all the V6 applications throughout the Honda and Acura product line, as well as test driving prototype and existing models. In 1999, he began racing as a participant in the SCCA Club Racing Enduro Series at Road Atlanta, Carolina Motorsports Park and Daytona. By 2003, he became intrigued with a new sport from Japan called drifting and soon became an active participant at DGTrials’ events, an organization hosting amateur drift events where people can practice and learn how to drift. Dennis’ hard work and commitment to the sport and to his sponsors has proven successful results; his record for the past few years shows a steady progression in wins to the top. Dennis is not a hit or miss driver, consistent is the best word to describe his driving as he strives be one of the top drivers.

Dennis’ passion and expertise in drifting will be a dynamic force to be reckoned with in the exciting and prosperous future of the motorsport of drifting.
