My name is William 'Bill' Harris. I have been fascinated by photography since my mom and dad gave me a little Kodak Brownie when I was 8 years old.
The fascination turned to passion when I was in my twenties while living in San Diego. Ansel Adams, Ed Westin, Imogen Cunningham and the rest of Group f.64 taught me that photography was not just about the physical subject but how that subject, when photographed, effects the viewer. However, as life moved on the flame diminished as my passion rightly was consumed by family life. Being married to a loving & beautiful women, and with her raising three equally wonderful children has been my passion for the last few decades.
My closet in our home in Grass Valley, CA is full of old Kodachrome slides and Tri-X negatives from years gone my. Everything from frozen days sleeping in my car in Yosemite Valley with my good friend Mark, to roaming freely at the United States Grand Prix on poorly 'forged' photo credentials. I intend to rescue these memories and put some of them on this site as time permits.
The passion for photography is slowly emerging from a long slumber. As a bit of an introvert this site is an outlet for my emotional expression. Every photo has a story. I hope you will enjoy what you see.
