I am very pleased to be part of the Flickr community. A day does not go by that I am not amazed, no, blown away, by the high level of photography being posted on these pages. Not long ago, the formidable challenges of f-stops, shutter speeds, film speeds and daylight or tungsten, prevented many people from expressing themselves visually. Enter the age of the digital camera and people who have a vision can now easily share it with the world. Moms, students, retirees and working folk are showing the world some of the best photography that I have ever seen. And they are doing just as well with $200 point-and-shoots as they are with pro DSLR's. We can get first hand glimpses of the northern lights as easily as we can witness religous ceremonies of India or the great architecture of Rome. This resource is profoundly changing the way we see the world and the way we access images. Thank you Flickr and the wonderful people who make it what it is!
I regret that I cannot accept invitations for groups that have requirements for giving certain number of awards, faves, etc. Invitations with large flashy icons may be deleteted without notice.

There are always flowers for those who want to see them. -- Henri Matisse But no one captures them with a more creative eye than Greg. I’m not sure how he makes his photos like artwork, but when you see them, you know they are his creations. Each has his distinctive style and elegance and a beauty all their own. This is a mark of a true artist. I also love his other forms of photography that appear in his photostream which can vary from street art to birds. Greg is a generous supporter of his fellow photographers on Flickr. His comments are given like a wine connoisseur sipping the best glass. A master of creative adjectives and originality he makes the receiver feel special and appreciated. Let’s not forget he is also a professional judge who has dedicated his life to the study of the Orchid plant and his eye is highly trained to the beauty of nature. His life is busy with lots of travel, but he always takes time to give his thoughtful comments to others. He has been an inspiration to me, and of all the hundreds of people on Flickr, he has taken the most time to be helpful and I would like to say I appreciate that very much. Thank You Greg Sincerely, Melinda

I first met Greg in 1975 when he showed me his portfolio so that I could select some "art" photos for a local quarterly art magazine that I was art directing. We quickly became close friends and punsters. Over the ensuing years, he was the photographer of choice for most of my commercial design work. Greg always adds something extra to the project, and it ends up 120 percent what I was looking for. Beyond his photography is a gourmet cook and sought after speaker about orchids. I have been publishing a series of his articles about California reserve wines in my latest magazine, ValueRich. Greg is not just a great photographer, he is a true Renaissance man.
