I have been a member of this wonderful community since 2018 and have learnt so much and been inspired by so many photographers here. I retired that year and decided that despite owning a point and shoot camera since I was 11 and a DSLR since 2013 it was about time I learnt how to use it properly. I took an amazing online course with Jim Hamel in Digital Photography School learning how to shoot in manual and I haven’t looked back since.

I love the weekly challenge groups which I joined originally to inspire me with my 365 projects. These projects, I must admit, have now fallen by the wayside, but I have stuck with the groups.

I used to take photos of landscapes and family in the main, but having been introduced to a macro lens I love looking for the small details now and find landscapes really hard. People photography is not much better, they move too quickly. My happy place is being out in nature and just playing with the camera.
