Hi and welcome to the many faces of the "Granby Provincial Park".
Much of this area in this photo blog of the Granby Park have never been seen before so set back and enjoy your journey.
Though only 75 km due east of Kelowna BC, little is known of the park.
The park only 42 kilometers long north to south and 17 kilometers wide at its widest point is one of the most unique parks in BC. Richard Chapman, my hiking partner who share these photos with me, and I have had the opportunity to cover over 500 kilometers in the park inside-out.
The north end offers hikers the opportunity to stroll through some of the largest areas of sup-alpine flowers found anywhere.
The south end is like hiking around Vancouver Island 600 kilometers away. Old growth cedars and hemlock, trillium's, violets and many other coastal rain forest plants abound.
The Granby River starts as snow melt at the north end and runs through the entire park. It is so clear and clean that it takes its color from the cedar trees which guard its banks and is one of the few remaining untouched rivers in BC.
Click on "Albums" in the upper left to check out the park. Clicking on any one of the photos will enlarge it.
Hope to see you out there.
