Grace is a piano and vocal coach, specializing in Musical Theatre. She has a Bachelor of Laws (with Honours) degree from the National University of Singapore, Licentiate diplomas in Piano Performance from both the London College of Music and Media and Trinity College London as well as teacher’s diplomas in Public Speaking and Speech and Drama.
She studied classical voice with Mr Reuben Lai, Professor Andrew Wilkinson, Mdm Joy Chen, Ms May Liu and Ms Nancy Yuen, jazz styling with Ms Jacintha Abishnagarten, musical theatre with Mr RJ Rosales and contemporary singing with Ms Amanda Colliver.
She is also trained in dance, and has danced in the styles of Jazz Ballet, Lindy Hop, Ballroom, Ballet, Hip Hop and Tap.
She teaches privately and in group classes and is also currently a part-time lecturer at Lasalle-SIA College of the Arts Musical Theatre Department, music directing the Song and Dance (I) Program.
She will be attending the New York Singing Teachers’ Association Professional Development Program in June 2007, focusing on Comparative Pedagogy and Developmental Repertoire in Musical Theatre and in Classical Singing.
She has an active accompaniment practice, accompanying instrumentalists and singers in styles spanning western classical music to funk. She has worked with the Singapore Repertory Theatre (notably music coaching Tony™ award winner Peter Friedman), the Singapore Lyric Opera and the Singapore Dance Theatre.
She regularly performs as part of a piano-voice duo for corporate events and counts couture jewelers Loang & Noi and BBC Prime (performing before Prince Andrew) amongst her corporate clients.
