I've been obsessed with an urge to recreate railway shapes since I was 3 years old. Thanks largely to the activities of Carluke Camera Club, I've got more into general, landscape, travel and street photography which I now enjoy just as much as railway photography. I also enjoy photographing other forms of transport, particularly ships and ferries. I worked until 2015 full time in the rail industry in a front line 24/7 operations role which severely curtailed my time but did boost the coffers and provided plenty of gen! I love dawn and dusk lighting and despite living in Scotland since '85 I still get fed up with sometimes weeks of grey skies and horizontal rain. You'd think I'd have got used to it by now! Tremendous influence and help from like minded friends over the years, many thanks indeed, you know who you are! And not forgetting all my Flickr contacts too.

Please do not use my images without my express permission. Contact me via FlikrMail or e-mail in the profile if you want to use a picture. I only charge profit-making concerns - fees by negotiation. Any image I see of mine which is credited to someone else will have a comment posted to the effect that it has been stolen, or if not possible, I'll contact whatever media has used the picture and advise them. So please don't even think about stealing my pictures.,
