Hi
I am a Self taught photographer living in the UK. Interested in all forms of photography, but enjoy outdoor and Macro most.
I received a Canon EOS 500D for Xmas 2010 and started to take photography seriously for the first time.
I also use a Canon EOS 300 35mm camera, as the lenses are interchangeable.
I have now purchased (April 2012) a 60D and hope to advance the quality of my output.
I like to shoot nature, naturally and try to achieve what I want in camera.
Update Oct 2012 - Traded in my old 500D with grip for a 5D.
Have now got a grip for the 5D, really helps with portrait shots.
Update Jan 2013 - I will not be posting any new images during Jan 2013, as my PC has finally gone to the PC grave yard, I was running Vista, so it is a good thing.
Get the new PC/Win 8 and PhotoShop at end of Jan, so lots of new things to learn.
Finding Camera RAW a nice tool, can release more potential from my work now, will take a while to perfect I feel, keep watching!
Have learnt the basics of PS through the RAW edit program, but now trying to learn layers and such.
Jan 2014 Update: Now working with film. I have had some cameras for a while, but not really used them.
Now process/develop my own B+W negs and then scan on an Epson V550. I can produce both Medium Format and 35mm, prefer the size of MF and easier to work with.
Also working well with various manual focus lenses from Canon FD, Olympus OM and M42 mounts. Use them on both DSLR's with an adapter.
Hit One Million views in March 2014, thanx anyone who viewed and commented.
Update Dec 2014: Now have a CSC in the form of the X-Pro 1. Looking to try something different to the SLR; rangefinder digital seems like the right direction.
Update August 2017:
Went through some issues last year that effected the rest of my life now. In Jan 2016 when I come of my bicycle and ended up in hospital. 8 broken ribs, 3 with multiple breaks and a broken collar bone that needed a metal plate inserted to fix. I was training for a charity ride in the Scottish highlands, which has not yet happened.
I realized after this accident that I will not live for ever and started to plan my life more around what I wanted, and how I wanted to live, rather than waiting for retirement, which may never happen.
My heart has always been in the highlands and both of my parents were Scottish. I moved up to Scotland (Dunoon) last year and I am luving the change. So much to photograph and light changes all day, every day.
Have sold some of my gear, the Fuji stuff and some film cameras, also the Bronica to buy Olympus OMD-EM5 and 12-40mm f2.8 lens in July 2017.
So please with the change and looking forward to getting some please results.
Because of where I am now I seem to be walking more and mostly making Landscape shots of the area and beyond. As Glen Coe is now in my county I am getting a chance to really explore there also. Loch Eck is my local haunt now and have luved watching the seasons change here.
I hit 5 million views this year (2017) and thank you all for this, including comments and FAV's, most welcome.
Thanx for looking at my stream.
