The phrase,"Good old China", became something of an institution within the first few hours of arriving on the strange side of the world. It was an easy way to explain the various idiosyncracies, from bizarre Chinglish to the various oddities and many problems that arise.
These pictures and the various snippets of information and anecdotes which go along with them encompass something of my experience here and real life in the modern Middle Kingdom (China).
At the moment I'm living in Jinan, a city of 8 million which is both the capital of Shandong Province and one of the biggest railway junctions in China.
I'm lecturing English at Shandong University of Law and Political Science, trying to learn this obtuse language and generally getting up to my usual mischief.
As most of the major social networking sites; Facebook, Twitter etc, are blocked here this is the best way to contact me and keep track of what I'm upto.
I hope you enjoy the images. Please feel free to coment, link and tell your friends.
Peace
