I take pictures, when I can, for my sanity. I find it to be such a release to drop everything else from consciousness for a while and just focus on seeing and taking pictures. If I happen to get a good shot along the way, so much the better. It's not that life outside of photography is so bad, but working in IT can at times be pretty stressful. It's partly why I'm in no rush to move to digital, even if that makes me a bit eccentric.

Well... in 2015 I finally bought my first digital camera: the Sony a7rII. I'm having fun with it.

I love to see the pictures others generate. It's wonderful to see glimpses of life from all over the world. Though, it can be a trap because sometimes I spend too much time looking at other's photos rather than taking more photos! Have to be careful of that! ;-)

As to my posting stuff to flickr, I do so because I find it a terrific way to learn from my mistakes, to try to figure out what works, and what doesn't. Hopefully over time that'll make me a better photographer, observer of life, light, and everything else.
