I am a mature amateur who just enjoys taking photos. I have always had a passion for photography, when I was younger with a Pentax film SLR and now digitally. I still have a lot to learn but that's half the fun and challenge of it. Now that the children have grown and flown I have the time to spend on this absorbing hobby. I love nothing more than grabbing my camera and walking the beautiful part of southern England I live in.

I love nature and landscapes, architecture,candid and street shots, but on the whole will photograph anything, especially my family. I have two sons, four grandchildren and four great grandchilren, who are obviously the greatest in the world!! They are a great joy.

I love digital photography although unfortunately, a great many of my photos end up in the recycle bin, but it's a great feeling when the odd one turns out well. I have a Panasonic Lumix TZ-90, which is handy for taking on holidays as it saves having to carry too much heavy gear, an Olympus EM1 Mk2 and a Panasonic Lumix G9, plus various lenses. I do find that the older I get the less heavy gear I want to carry!! I am finding the MFTs system brilliant for it's size and weight.

I am really enjoying Flickr. It's a great place to learn, to get useful comments and tips. It's a very friendly community. I am so impressed how fantastic the standard of photography is. It makes me feel very inadequate, but hey-ho we all have to start somewhere and thanks to browsing other Flickr members photos, I am learning alot.
