Statement

My photographs are an exploration of awareness—

a timeless experience held within a single moment,

one that can’t fully witness or recognize itself.

 

The world is full of beautiful distractions,

but I photograph to celebrate existence—

to be part of the now, not to outlast myself in the wrong places.

 

I'm a critic by nature

a little indecisive, no longer envious,

still romantic in the quiet ways.

 

These days, everyone is a photographer.

But taking a picture and making a picture—

befriending the unknown moment—

are similar, yet fundamentally different.

 

It may seem simple,

but capturing a true expression,

or explaining the subject,

offers infinite possibilities as you do one at a time.

 

And that’s where photography survives—

where it remains art.
