Welcome on my stream!

Already in my youth I loved photography ... sometimes I had the possibility to borrow an Praktica (LTL) or Zenit - both with 55 mm lense ... but I had only seldom films and so I enjoyed more watching images of other persons.

In spring 2008 I've gotten as present my first digital cam - an old Mavica MVC-FD95. It was wonderful to take captures now without costs although this cam, still with floppy disc, very, very slow and 2.1 MP :-) was almost historical. I used the whole summer nearly every day ... and in October I decided 'yes, I still love taking pictures very much, I'm also ready to invest a bit in this hobby' ... and when I've gotten a wonderful offer of an used Nikon D40x I bought this cam together with the kit-optics AF-S DX 18-55 mm. I'm very glad with this cam ... and although I see with the time some little deficiencies ;) I'm still thinking, it is a good instrument and esp. for the beginning and also for trips, when not having so much place for a big one, a very nice cam. The next acquisitions have been a SIGMA DC 18-200 mm and some filters, batteries, memory cards ... to be more flexible ...

Meanwhile I'm working with the following equipment:

Nikon D40x

Nikkor AF-S DX 18-55 mm 3.5-5.6

SIGMA DC 18-200 mm 3.5-6.3 HSM (my 'standard')

SIGMA 105 mm 1:2.8 GD Macro

SIGMA 120-400 mm 1:4.5-5.6 APO HSM

Nikon speedlight SB-900 (still new - more experiments with it during fall and winter)

Adobe Photoshop CS2

Nikon Capture NX2

Photography became an important part of my life - taking pics, the postprocessings and 'promenades' through the world of flickr, watching other's images... I'm enjoying Your photos very much and thank You sincerely for sharing! I hope You also will find on my stream some pics You love! I thank You for Your visits, Your kind comments, praises, critics and tips and for Your invitations. They are all very appreciated.

Other interests:

traveling, like to get to know about different countries and cultures, reading, music, languages and all what I can do outside in fresh air

Kind regards - enjoy my stream!
