First, thank you for viewing and commenting on my photos. Being an amateur, it is just fun to share what I see and to see everyone else's stuff. Makes the world a bit smaller and friendlier.

I'm a retired teacher. Love writing, photography, woodcarving, beadwork, traveling and camping. Have bicycle toured across the USA (east to west coast) and New Mex. to Jasper, Alberta, and thru Alaska. I was bitten by a mosquito in 2003 and got West Nile virus which paralyzed my left leg. I had to retire from teaching physical education.I have recovered much of the use of my leg but must use crutches for hiking. Hobbies and part time work (child care) now fill my life.

I still camp each summer and get out to see as much wildlife (animals, not people) as possible. My thumbnail pic is from one of my first hikes (post WNV) in Yellowstone. My best so far-10 miles in Glacier Nat. Park-summer 08. "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."
