I have been taking pictures since my 6th birthday. Borrowing the Olympus Trip that belonged to my father, who was an amateur photographer himself.
When I was 18 I decided to go off to Paris. I stayed in a cheap hotel for almost a year, and I did a lot of (mainly) black and white photography. Being back in the Netherlands I did a four year education at a technical school for Photography in The Hague. After this I worked in several photo studios in the Netherlands as a photographer, before moving out to Israel, where I worked as a photographer and as first assistant to Ron Kedmi, a well known fashion photographer in Israel. Having worked there for more than two years I decided to go to South Africa and try my luck there, together with my Israeli girlfriend. Since confirmative action was kicking in, in the aftermath of Apartheid we moved back to the Netherlands. I went back to work as a studio photographer, but after 5 years I suffered from a serious back injury and I had to quit.
Today, I work in a specialized shop for photography as a digital consultant, give workshops and lectures about photography and give private lessons in photoshop and photography.
