I'm a PhD student at the University of Texas at Austin, studying ecology, evolution, and behavior. Specifically, I do my work in the community ecology of dragonflies and damselflies.
For a long time, my camera was a Canon Powershot S90, an excellent point-and-shoot. I could've upgraded to an SLR, but I liked the constraints and challenges imposed by a point-and-shoot.
In September 2011, I finally caved in and purchased a Nikon D3000 DSLR in order to explore a wider range of photographic possibilities. I'm still getting used to thing, but I'm excited to figure out what I can do with it!
