I deleted most of my photostream, well over 5,000 photos - painstakingly compiled and posted here to share with like minded photographers.

I no longer user my Flickr account because Yahoo decided the Pro account was no longer available. The layout has been changed without any warning and is no longer suitable for photographers to display their skills.

Each photograph I post takes a lot of time to prepare and the old Flickr gave each image the space it deserved - a clean space on a white background just like it would be displayed in a real gallery.

The new interface has trashed every single value the Flickr service was built on. Continuity of service and trust between supplier and customer has been discarded in favour of the dumbing down of flickr for users of point and shoot camera and smartphones. The while space will be invaded by advertising for all users and the people like me who helped build the reputation of Flickr are no longer welcome.

I no longer post pictures to online services because there is no alternative to Flickr, Yahoo neither care or worry about the community they have dismantled by this callous rebuild of the site. They have a global user base who are being exposed to the hard edge of American business practices.

I no longer trust Yahoo to be custodian of my intellectual property, therefore I chose to remove my footprint from their servers.
