January 2015 - I would describe myself as a serious amateur photographer. I have been perfecting my craft for about 35 years now and continue to learn as I go along. I carry a camera with me everywhere (sometimes its my IPhone, but hey, whatever works!) I am always looking for something to photograph. I have learned a lot over the past couple of years after joining a local camera club and also from viewing the many wonderful images from the many wonderful photographers on Flickr. I edit mainly with Photoshop but also use Nik Software and have recently begun trying a number of the great apps available on the IPhone. I continue to look for new ways to express my creativity!

June 2017 - I've recently been working on an abstract project that I'm finding very fun and interesting. I haven't given up on "realistic" photography, just trying something different. I started by taking one image that I took with my IPhone (not even a particularly good image) of some red and orange fruit. I've applied different filters to twirl, zig-zag, liquify, and basically distort my way to new images. I basically just keep going until I end up with something that I like and that reminds me of something entirely different from what I started with. It's amazing what you can do with Photoshop! It's almost endless! Right now I'm still working with that one image as a starting point but soon I plan to try another image and see what else I can do! ;)
