Global Brigades (GB) is the world's largest student-led global health and sustainable development organisation. A non-profit organization, we empower student volunteers and professionals nationwide to provide communities in developing countries with sustainable solutions that improve quality of life while respecting local culture and improving the environment.

Our mission is to improve equality of life, by igniting the largest student-led social responsibility movement on the planet. To empower volunteers to facilitate sustainable solutions in under resourced communities while fostering local cultures

The nine programmes that you can get involved in the three locations are:

Ghana - Medical, Dental, Microfinance and Water brigades

Honduras - Public Health, Medical, Dental, Microfinance, Water and Architecture

Panama - Medical, Dental, Business, Law and Environmental

In 2010 over 4000 volunteers helped over 50,000 beneficiaries... each group of brigaders has a massive impact on the community...

For every 1 volunteer, 24 patients are given access to essential medical care

For every 1 volunteer, 1.4 children receive access to higher education

For every 1 volunteer, one water storage pila can be built

For every 1 volunteer, 100 trees are planted, offsetting approximately 4,000 lbs of CO2 per year

For every 1 volunteer, 1 farmer’s agricultural production is doubled

For each team of 5 volunteers, 4 families will receive individual financial planning workshops.

For every 1 dental unit, 563 fillings are performed to restore teeth

For every 4 volunteers, one family secures their property of land

These are general figures to illustrate the impact one can have. Find out about a current brigade at your university and if there isn't one, start one up. Please take a look at our website for more information www.globalbrigades.org
