I have an arty, architectural background and have dabbled in photography as a minor sideline for most of my life.

I've always tried to add a creative slant to happy-snappying, but had found the finiteness of the medium, pre-digital, far too exasperating to pursue with any real enthusiasm.

It was my introduction to Flickr that was the catalyst to taking up photography with gusto.

The combination of three magical ingredients - digital cameras, post-processing systems and Flickr made all the difference.

Being exposed daily to such a wide variety of amazing photographic art inspired me to get out there and try my hand, to start learning the language of photography and photo editing, and to express it here on Flickr.
