Glen 's work should be appreciated, studied and followed by any serious photographer for three main reasons: Firstly, each of his works speaks to depth and complexity. This complexity arises from his attention to each of the many details that comprise a photographic image: composition, lighting, focal point, depth of field and so forth. There may be happy serendipities involved in a particular shooting, but the values inherent to each photograph demonstrate Glen's mastery of the medium. Secondly, Glen avoids the clichés of most photographers. He trains those of us who follow his work to value ordinary and seemingly banal subjects as worthy subjects of art. He expands our field of vision, enhancing our experience as visual artists. Glen has much to teach those of us aspiring to grow and evolve as photographers. Thirdly, to describe Glen's achievements merely as 'photography' falls far short of the mark. Glen embodies what it means to be an artist, a painter of light - he brings us meticulous paintings, always experimenting with different cameras, lenses, printing and processing techniques. These paintings, moreover, are beautiful, moving, thought-provoking and therefore profound works. In short, Glen uses the hand, the eye and the heart to create, not merely superb photography, but truly fine art.

I am so pleased to know Glen through Flickr.
