I am a 40 something self employed artist, originally from Harrow Middlesex but emigrated to Yorkshire in 1989. I've got one husband (yes, he's my first), two kids, one dog and one cat. I love chocolate, I worship at the altar of chocolate - if it was a drug (it is, isn't it)? I would take it intraveneously. I hate pets in cages. Don't tell me you love animals then keep a hamster or a gerbil in a cage. This doesn't make you an animal lover. Every day I take our dog for a 2 hour walk on the moors. I used to say that it was for his benefit but I really think it is for my sanity. Having a dog means that I can never get a full time, grown up job (yippee). I make fused glass dishes, wall decorations, coasters and dichroic jewellery in my little kiln that I sell to galleries in the UK but this is not enough to make a living so I am a resident artist in a secondary school and I paint murals for public buildings only.

This is my first testimonial and I wanted to write it for Jo because I am inspired by her art, charisma, and good humor. I only know Jo through our online chats and emails as she is a respected and well loved member of our team of glass artists, the Creative Glass Guild of Etsy. She has proven to be a valuable team member, playing many roles for our team such as our newsletter editor. Her glasswork is really beautiful and her sense of humor comes through in her written submissions and chats. Thank you Jo, for all you do and keep on inspiring us with your beautiful creations and stories about your beautiful dog!
