A Little About Me

I have been enjoying photography as a serious hobby for a several years now, always working on improving my work. I enjoy doing all kinds of photography, but tend to lean towards nature, especially animals.

I am self-taught, rather than sitting in a classroom, I did some research to learn the rules of photography, and learned by doing, and not allowing myself to use auto-settings on my camera. If you set your mind on something, you can do it.

Thanks for visiting! I hope you enjoy my work.

Where does my screen name come from?

I took it from a song I love, but I also just like that it means "to turn" or "spin". But, if you want to at least hear the song that it came from, and then also know how to pronounce it, you can click here:

I chose that particular clip because I was actually there for that concert. Good memories.

My "style"

I personally don't think I have a style.. yet. I love photographing everything, though I know I lean towards nature photography quite a bit. But I love photographing anything that catches my eye, and learn and grow. I don't feel that landscapes are my strong point at all, so I guess that's why I want to try harder to get a really cool landscape shots.

I like doing portraits, and really, I do take more portraits than I load here, I just don't always load them, I'm not sure why. My favorites are candids.

Goal

My goal? I'm not sure. I want to continually learn and improve my photography.

Also it would be cool to get one of my photos on the front page of Explore... haha. I've never had that happen yet, that I know of.... Ok, had it happen! This is my first, probably only, picture that made it to the front page of explore!

All Aboard

Gira's work is a unique mix of awe inspiring natural shots and very unique (not quite odd) assembled images (toys) ... there is life and humor throughout her photographs. They are fun and exciting to see ...
