I've been taking photos for years. Started out with compact cameras and an range finder. I remember when I accidentally rewound a half-exposed roll of film with the auto rewind button when I was 8 - wasn't too please to say the least. Then I inherited my mothers manual Fujica SLR in my early teens. Loved getting the narrow DoF pics but really didn't know how to use all the functions. Played around for a bit then the camera went in the closet. When I recovered it, I started to learn more and wanted to get new lenses. The inside of the camera though was breaking down so after much internal debate I took the plunge and got a new film SLR around 2003. I loved it, I was a bit weary of 'auto focus' but how can you live without it. It was my new baby - the canon Rebel GII film SLR.

Took quite a few good pics with that camera but I was always very thrifty with using film. as the costs added up.

2006 - Here was another large evolution. Thinking of all the expense with film and my lag time in seeing the pictures and learning from them was a problem. As well, I had made many trips to waterfalls that were 2-3 hrs away and came home excited to get the film developed only to receive washed out crappy photos. It was then I took an even larger plunge and got my Canon 5D. (I had some compact and semi pro dig cams but they are not the same). You may say that is a huge leap, but I was actually going for the 30D but the reason I changed was another longer story. I love the 5D. I took lots of shots for the first while then stopped for whatever reason.

It was only a few months later that I was surfing and discovered other photographers and flickr and project 365 that really set my passion for photography on fire. Now I take at least one photo a day. and some days take up to several thousand. I do all sorts of photography, from small objects, macro, flowers, scenery, products, portraits, outdoors and more recently studio work. I love it all. I just can stop this feeling....

Hope it continues.
