Nature drew me into photography. I wanted to capture what I saw to help preserve my memories and also share with everyone all the wonders and beauty I have had a chance to see. I hope that the more people fall in love with Nature pics, the more they will show concern for the environment.

Over the pass couple years my mentality has been slowly shifting from photography for nature's sake, to photography for photography's sake. However I have been living in Japan for the past 7 years, and my Japanese is not good enough to take some courses on photography so I'm basically winging it.

My cameras:

Canon Kiss X2: the small body has suited me well for hiking, but yearning for upgrade

Canon Powershot 95: decided to get something to slip into my pocket before I upgraded my SLR- very glad I did.

Lenses:

Canon EF 24-105 4L: "the workhorse"

Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 macro: My first really nice lens

Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5:I really liked this lens at 1st, but with the quality of my 24-105 and the awesomeness of Photoshop's photo merge function, it is sadly becoming obsolete.
