Gerold’s refined photographs are like found art. He skillfully composes them from everyday sights that most of us would dismiss as banal until he shows us otherwise. His photos can be warm, droll, and sometimes sad, all without a trace of sentimentality or mawkish bids for our emotions.

Gerold's work is just terrific! He photographically manages to keep a fair emotional distance, and avoid chiches entirely, and yet his work has humour and warmth. A very delicate balance for sure! Cheers, Beth H
