Hi there!

My name is Yuri Castilho and I'm a geology student here in Sao Paulo.

My passion for photography started long ago, when I was a kid.

I remember my dad letting me take the last photos of the film, just before it was ending. It was some 2 or 3 photos of something like: the floor (opss, accidents happens), or any of the cats we had in home that time, or a plant, or just anything that was in front of me (and possibly behind!).

While writting this, many good memories come in mind. Just now I realize how special was the feeling of looking into the camera's hole, focusing my eye in the inside the viewfinder, breathing calm and steady for remaining constant and waiting to push the button... like an arrow to be released. Of course I didn't think this that time, but the feeling is alive inside the memory as the air in my lungs.

Anyway, as I said, I'm a geology student and we have a lot of field trips. Many of my photos will come from this travels and I hope to show a little bit of this wonderfull country that is Brazil; not only to foreigners but also and specially to other brazilians (well, this is a huge country, you bet!).

My biggest dream would be to merge my job as a geologist and photographer, along teaching students and people as a professor about Earth's history.
