Took up photography I suppose back in the 1950's, using a folding Corona camera my Grandmother had bought for me, I'd be around nine years old. Taking the camera to the local chemist, Mr Cornwell the owner would load it up with film and then try in vain to give me lessons in photography (it went straight over the top of my head) Surprisingly though I did manage to take some pictures that were presentable.

Today, besides occasionally digital photography which at first I was quite fascinated by but soon became very bored with the medium so I've recently starting shooting and developing my own film again. I have a small collection of inexpensive cameras (35mm and Medium Format) Some of which, were made back when I was nine years old and before.

Occasionally I will rework some of my photographs that I particularly like i.e. converting colour to monochrome or cropping out a section I find interesting, anything really that I could of took at the time.

What I do miss though is not having a darkroom again, I'm missing out not doing my own prints which is all part of the fun and interest.

Footnote: It occurs to me that todays photography you have to be just as proficient in using Photoshop as you do in taking the photograph in the first place.

My best wishes to all.

George.
