(Most of my pictures are taken through a window, overlooking our yard. Quality can often be affected. Uploads are only about 800 to 1000 resolutions so again, quality will be affected)

I am an writer/author but like to dabble in photography. I may not take great pictures but i get a lot of shots from my own back yard which we have worked very hard at making a bird haven.

We have a small trout pond (roughly17' x 10', 5 feet in the deepest area), which is what really attracts the birds for drinking and bathing. We have planted over 100 trees and shrubs for foraging and nesting - many berry/fruit bearing trees etc. We have slash piles where we drop all our prunings into large piles - also for foraging for insects, seeds etc., and for safety from the hawks and nesting.

I keep my camera set up on a tripod in front of the window, overlooking the main part of the yard and pond, and this is how most of my pictures are taken. Most are taken through glass which will, of course, affect the quality of the picture.

We live in the small town of Logan Lake which is named after our lake which is situated right in town, on the outskirts. We are surrounded by forest and wildlife, including deer, bear, cougar, bob cat, lynx, moose, all kinds of waterfowl, wild birds, and all types of birds of prey. We also have several lakes in the general area - most containing rainbow trout up to, and over, 10 pounds.

I am extremely happily married and we have a rust colored, 6 pound Min Pin dog, and of course there is Pickles - our African Grey parrot who i have published 4 humorous books - about living with such an intelligent, complicated, willful, funny and always in trouble ball of feathers.

I hope you enjoy my pictures.
