I am a bit reserved when writing about myself. Something left over from former times when it was not necessary good taste to talk about yourself . . . you were known by what you did and how good you were in doing it. However, if you'd like to know more my biography, it is listed in the Marquis 1988 published edition of "Who's Who in the World."

My name is George Washington Gaw . . .

I am a writer, artist, professor of design, photographer and designer of visual images having formerly worked, lived and taught at schools and major companies in Japan, Europe and United States. For many years, I was a Creative Director for several top consultant marketing and design offices in New York, Boston and Los Angeles, conducting business in Japan, Europe and in the United States. Furthermore, I was also one of the co-founders of Art Center (Europe), an international design school in Switzerland where I lived and taught Marketing for Design, Corporate Identification Planning and Packaging Design . I have won awards for my work in design and education and have trained many young designers during my career. Over the past few years I have begun to write more and display my work online. There is always an interesting story behind my work. My collages are created intuitively, that is, not planned beforehand and they just somehow evolve. All of my current work is on stretched cotton canvas or canvas board. My photographs are thematic which I print out on my Epson SureColor P800 9-color printer using Epson Presentation Luster paper. I color correct my photographs when necessary and generally crop and shoot in camera. G. W. Gaw/2018
