I'm an *extremely* amateur photographer that's using a bridge camera (Canon Powershot SX50) which gives me the benefits of a point-and-shoot for when I need a picture "right now", while giving me the flexibility to put it into manual mode and shoot in raw mode so I can do the post-processing myself.
