Gemmamou is relatively new on Flickr and I ran accross his photostream accidentally no more than a few days ago... We have been viewing each other's pictures, but, most importantly, we have been exchanging meaningful comments, concerning our pictures and hopefully going a long way beyond the pictures themselves. You see, what's great about Gemmamou and his work is that he has a quite unique ability of combining pictures with words - his own words or the words of others- as well as with lyrics and music. Moreover, this combination is so dramatically effective that the viewers find themselves absorbed helplessly, but ever so addictively, by the ambiance created by his work. On the other hand, it should also be noted that Gemmamou returns the favor as a commentator of other people's photographs... He can see well beyond the surface, well beyond the obvious, and he is articulate and eloquent enough to put down his thoughts and interpretations for the sake of all of us. I wish him a fruitful, long lasting orbit on Flickr and, mainly, on whatever else he may choose to do in his life and with it!..
