Some soundbites of me

Facts: Dutch, born in 1982, living together with Laura and a fake dog in Utrecht

Interests: Of course photography. And travelling (see map). Furthermore: Geography & Urban planning, football, cycling, music (Electro, Indie, Britpop), movies, bars and reading.

I always liked photography very much and in september 2007 I bought my first SLR camera (Canon EOS 350D). Followed by a 10 week course digital photography. It helped a lot to get me started. Somebody from the course told me about Flickr and now I'm quite addicted to it...

Because I'm interested in feedback and if you like my work , please leave a comment, also if it's a critical one!

Cheers aye, Gekko

Some believe that spaces and places you and I experience are perceptions, not realities. Of course, this is absolutely the case for photography. We, photographers, most of the time manipulate the world, to showcase our construction of reality. This is not necessarily a bad thing; it is actually one of the reasons that I enjoy Flickr! Therefore I like the stream of Gekko82 because it makes boundaries permeable: as he takes us on a journey around the world, traditionally fixed and geographical regularities become less and less relevant. Furthermore, I enjoy the way his lens captures his prioritization of space… But, more importantly, he is a nice guy to enjoy a beer with!
