August, 2016 : Took a deep plunge this Janamashtmi, when after 9-&-1/2 years with the D80, got a D500, with a Nikkor 200-500 to go with it. Phew! (The D80 & Nikkor 70-300 stay for now - Maybe mera yaar will learn photography on it someday .. Who knows?? ..)

January, 2015 : After more than a year of mulling, I finally got a bridge camera - The Panasonic Lumix FZ-200. The decision was based on the many reasons - easier portability and assembly, ability to shoot HD vids, & the reach of the lens (600mm). The trade-off was the picture quality .. owing to the small sensor. I, however, have returned to photography thanks to this camera, and am looking fwd to my weekly cycling tours where I can lug it around with me ..

September, 2013 : I woke up from a deep slumber, and got the body, the macro, and the ring-flash fixed up. I have also added a polarizer for the macro, planning to bring down the glare and other dazzling reflections from my subjects. The gear has become even more tricky to manage. Let's see how it fares ..

February, 2012 : My year-long awaited 'Garden Festival' @ the 'Garden OF 5 Senses' ended nastily and painfully ... A little into the morning macro session, my lower back muscles went into a spasm, grounding me. It's been 13days to the day ... am still not back to normal. Guys - Please. Please. Please be careful about your fitness in general, & posture-while-macro-photographing in particular.

December, 2011 : Was surprised, and dismayed when my Christmas turned awry - Somehow, I damaged the AF feature of my Tammy 90mm (maybe while screwing/unscrewing the ring-flash). Too bad. Let's see how far I can go out on a limb ... After all, the MF is still there.

Nov, 2011 : After years of mulling over, took the plunge on 8th (a special day), by splurging on making this a 'Pro' account. Feels good - seeing my snaps from 5yrs.

Feb., 2007 : Got my first SLR, a Nikon D80, with a Nikkor 70-300 f/4-5.6 G lens with whatever I had left over. Am loving the feel of handling an SLR .. :-D

Oct,2006 : In this World of evolution, I am surprised on seeing my own .... 5 years back, I didn't have an inkling how photography would turn me on.

Which brings me to philosophizing that I might evolve out of it - who knows?!?

As of now, I am riding the surf, and enjoying every moment of it.
