I have played with a variety of equipment over the years. Unfortunately that did not make me a proper photographer. But I still enjoy taking snapshots. For now and the foreseeable future I will be carrying small, light, and simple. My most recent stuff is taken with a phone, a point and shoot camera, or an instant camera that prints on thermal receipt paper. All that matters in my current journey is finding the joy in discovering an image to capture (or having an image discover me) instead of fiddling with gear.

I would like to share a few quotes from photographers/artists that resonate with me:

“I never have taken a picture I’ve intended. They’re always better or worse.” - Diane Arbus

"Everything is about something, even if it's nothing." - Benjamin Lee Sperry

"If your pictures aren’t good enough, you aren’t close enough." - Robert Capa

“Perfection is not something I admire. A touch of confusion is a desirable ingredient.” - Saul Leiter
