I found Simon's fantastic site - www.simoncornwell.com/lighting/home.htm - by accident while generally surfing around. I was an electrician working on street lighting from the early to late eighties. I never really thought there were people out there who were so dedicated to researching and documenting street lighting in the UK. Remembering I had taken photos when working in this field I dug some out, scanned them and decided to share them here. I'm pretty good with bits of wire but remembering product numbers and stuff like that is not my strong point. Hopefully people with more knowledge than I can ID things that I put here.

As I don't need much excuse to get my camera out I'll keep my eyes open in the future for anything interesting, street lighting related, that I can also share here.

Also here are some traffic signal works photos, just for interest, that I found while digging through my boxes of photos. (I went on from a street lighting electrician to become a traffic signals technician then engineer.)
