For example, it can be what you like about the photo; your own experiences at a given location, or something similar you've seen elsewhere. Note that I tend to remove spammy/blingy and/or political comments, just to keep the comments section positive and tasteful.

When heading into the outdoors, please always show respect for the natural world so that together, we can preserve its beauty. When going on location, I will always pack out any rubbish I have, and endeavour to remove rubbish I find (up to a reasonable amount). If we all did that, the world would be a much better place to live in.

Update 2024 - Statement of Ethics: In the new world of Generative AI, please note that I will *never* add something to a scene that was not already there. No fake moons, skies, houses etc. I shoot RAW which must be processed, and I tweak global settings of exposure, colour temperature, contrast, saturation, sharpness and noise reduction, plus traditional dodging and burning in order to tame scenes with a high dynamic range. I do use digital tools to remove dust spots because that's just part and parcel of digital photography, where dust can accumulate on the sensor. In the film days there wasn't really an issue, as every film cell was essentially a new sensor. In summary, I like to keep it authentic, and I like to think that you can go to the same locations I have been, and see the same things as I've photographed - mindful that things change organically due to weather, seasons, tides, and the passage of time.
