Gavin's endeavors into large-scale images started in the form of paintings in 1989 with his large-scale public work, with muralist Kent Twitchell . Progressing into corporate commissions of larger-than-life hyper-realistic landscapes, the lines between his painting and photography blurred. Gavin continues to push the limits of the panoramic field. In 2008 as a honoree member of Xrez, he was integral in the creation of the massive 45 giga-pixel panorama of Yosemite Valley. Most recently the Seattle Symphony Orchestra played to his projections inside Seattle’s Benayora Hall.
