An old friend told once me to "F8 and be there", which I interpreted to mean "have an open eye and good timing and don't sweat the technicals." In practice it means almost everything I do on the camera or the phone is set to Auto, with little to no editing. But I think I have an eye for composition, form, color, lighting and themes.
